Familiebedrijf Conterno Fantino behoor tot de top van de Barolo regio. Het is hard werken om aan de top te komen en misschien nog wel harder werken om daar te blijven. Met hun recent gerenoveerde wijnbedrijf gaan ze met de tijd mee. Duurzaamheid speelt hier een grote rol. Een eigen waterzuiveringssysteem, zonnepanelen, spaarzaam energie gebruik en ga zo maar door. En dat alles om zo goed mogelijk wijn te maken. Dit doen ze niet alleen met Nebbiolo, maar ook met Dolcetto.

Dolcetto was voor de opkomst van Nebbiolo de grootste speler in Piëmonte. Gelukkig blijven producenten deze wijngaarden onderhouden, want er komen prachtige wijnen vandaan. Eerder op dronk dan Nebbiolo, vriendelijk fruitig en subtiel kruidig. Vrij vertaald betekend Dolcetto kleine lieveling. Maar vergis je niet, deze wijn heeft pit!

Proefnotitie

Paarsrode kleur; pittig, fruitig aroma van rood fruit en wat gebrande tonen. De smaak is vol met wat tannine; in de afdronk wat frisse zuren en veel concentratie.

Drinken bij

Fruitige rode wijn met structuur, prima bij kruidige pasta of stoofschotels.

Houdbaarheid

Op dronk vanaf twee jaar na de oogst; houdbaar tot circa vijf jaar na oogstdatum.
